National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine named. Shevchenko is located at the intersection of two main highways of Kiev is the streets of Bogdan Khmelnitsky and Vladimir. Not far from the Kiev Opera House are attractions such as the St. Sophia Cathedral and Golden Gate.
In the interior design dominated by velvet and bronze. Fine chairs, chandeliers and lamps were brought from Austria.
Despite the years that have passed since the end of the restoration, the Opera House and now delights by exquisite interiors, solemnity and luxury. The huge Venetian mirrors adorn the lobby, marble staircase lit expensive porcelain lamps; everywhere bronze, gilding, crystal. Much has changed and the backstage of the theater: the increased size of the stage, rebuilt the orchestra pit, was purchased new instruments, what made in the Czech Republic under the individual order of the theater.
Today the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre has ballet, opera company and symphony orchestra. Creative reputation of Opera remains consistently high for several decades, with great success touring around the world.
