National Science and of the NAS is by far one of the biggest museums in Kiev. The Museum is one of the biggest scientific research museums of the type in the world. The Natural History Museum was established as a unified complex what comprising five museums: the Paleonto- logical, Geological, Botanical and Zoological.
In museum’s territory, there are more than 30 000 various exhibits, what representing the history of vegetable and animal kingdom development on Earth, planet’s geological evolution and also material evidences of culture development of people inhabited territory.
The dissemination of scientific knowledge, the Museum carries out a large-scale research work. It preserves unique scientific collections — the basis of the research work of the Museum scientists. The collection materials are the source of replenishing the exposition and its further development.
Zoological museum, located at 3 floor. In this museum there are more than 5 000 exhibits of animals belonging to 4 000 animal kinds. In Museum there are two halls: hall of mammals and hall of birds.
